Artist Jessica Rose Maraschiello on Display

The artist currently on display (at the Kanoe Cafe), Jessica Rose Maraschiello, was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and raised in Smyrna, Tennessee, a small suburb of Nashville.
Maraschiello has always been surrounded by creative family members. Her father is a skilled craftsman and carpenter. Her mother painted many of the crafts made by her father and also made ceramics. Grandfather, Robert White, was a professor at the Nossi School of Art in Nashville and a graphic designer. Oldest sister, Lisa Rogers, whose artwork was previously on display at the Kanoe Café, has been a big inspiration and motivator for Maraschiello.
Growing up, Maraschiello enjoyed a variety of activities that engaged her imagination. From writing poetry and short stories to coloring and drawing, Jessica was happiest when creating something. In high school, Maraschiello was a member of the dance team in which she choreographed many performances and also the school musical. After graduation she attended cosmetology school and began to dabble in painting. Maraschiello began to paint regularly, however, a few years later to help cope with the emotional turmoil following her divorce.
Feeling stuck and unmotivated in Tennessee, Maraschiello moved to Ohio for a change of pace and scenery in November 2009. Since moving to Ohio, Maraschiello has sold several paintings and has begun working on a children’s book with sister, Lisa Rogers.
Maraschiello is strongly interested in linear and contemporary art, but recently has started to venture into mixed media as well. Her talents and techniques have been self-taught, but she is seeking an education in Illustration soon.
Maraschiello will be showing her work at the Kanoe Cafe 16 S Tippecanoe Dr in Tipp City until July 30.
