Bill Beagle Wins
Bill Beagle, who picked up the moniker the “finance guy” during this year’s GOP primary race for the 5th District, stayed affixed to his laptop screen as the evening’s results came in. As his race depended on votes coming in from Montgomery, Miami and Darke County boards of election, Beagle created a custom spreadsheet to keep track of each new report. “It’s just the way I have to have it, it’s well organized and I can rely on it” stated Beagle. Bill Beagle welcomed many of his campaign staff and well wishers over to his Tipp City residence last evening in his words “to celebrate the close of this phase of the campaign”.
While the Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner did not win her Democrat primary bid for US Senate last night, she was correct that voter turnout would be very low. Her estimate was 25% and Miami County turned out just 21% of all registered voters. Beagle finished off his challenger from Arcanum Joe Lemaster by 1,500 votes.
“I wish I would have done better in Montgomery County, but am pleased with the canvassing we did in Miami County” stated Beagle ” I look forward to reviewing the precinct data from this evening”, Beagle continued, “I am pleased in the confidence that everyone has placed in me, and look forward to winning in November”.
