This week Tipp Monroe Community Services Summer Vacation at the Park launched with “Up, Up and Away.” The children ranging from ages 4-10 have been making and flying paper airplanes. Special guest Matt Owen, Executive Director at the Tipp City Chamber of Commerce delighted the kids by reading “Curious George and the Hot Air Balloon.” Today, a brightly colored balloon landed at Tipp City Park. Upon further inspection, camp counselors discovered it was “flown” there by Reed Spencer of Re Max. All the kids at camp got the opportunity to have their picture taken with the balloon.
There is still space available in next week’s Summer Vacation at the Park program “Bugs, Bugs, and More Bugs.” The children will get the chance to see caterpillars, spiders, beetles and other creepy crawlers. A visit from Boonshoft Museum staff will enlighten and educate on the benefits of insects to the environment.
There are four additional camps this summer, including “Mommy’s Little Genius”, “Adventures on the High Seas”, “Campers R Us”, and “Wild Wild West.” Each camp runs Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m.- Noon. If you are interested in joining the fun this summer, call TMCS at 937.667.8631 or go to www.tmcomservices.org for more information.
