Cara’s Corner – The Confession by John Grisham

Any John Grisham fans out there? I’ve read all of his books probably due to my legal background. I found his books are easy to figure out but still a fun read especially as warmer weather is approaching and we need our books for the pool!!
The Confession tackles a very controversial topic – the death penalty. It also deals with interrogation of suspects. The murder of a young girl leaves the small town in Texas (a state that heavily favors the death penalty) split due to racial issues. Even with the body not being found, Donte Drumm, a local football star, has is convicted and sent off to death row.
Four days away from Donte Drumm’s execution a man on the outside finds himself suffering from an inoperable brain tumor. For the first time in his life he decides to do what is right and confess to the killing. He enlists the help of a minister but is he in time to save the innocent man on death row?? If you were this minister, would you have put your life and your families life in danger to help this murderer?
