West Milton area resident Felicia Barnes (pictured) wore her grandmother’s dress to story times recently at the Milton-Union Public Library to tell children her story of growing up in the Philippines. She explained that the gown was formal and for very special occasions. Using a map Barnes showed the young audience where the islands were located and how far away they are from the United States. She talked about the people, culture and customs of the Philippines. She also shared some words from the official native language Tagalog.
