Tipp City Rotary Club Meeting 5.18.11

Dave Summers program at the May 18 Tipp City Rotary Meeting was entitled How a Couple of Stupid Accounting Rules and Bank Regulations Contributed to the Financial Meltdown.  The program focused on how the accounting rules governing mortgage loan servicing and mortgage-backed securities fueled the origination of loans to unqualified borrowers and how regulations governing bank investment portfolios devalued some mortgage-backed securities increasing the number of troubled banks in the country.  The Tipp City Rotary Club meets each Wednesday at noon in the basement of the Monroe Township building.
