Former Dayton Mayor and Ohio Lt. Governor Paul R. Leonard, was the speaker at the Wednesday January 11th, 2012 Tipp City Rotary Club’s meeting. Mr. Leonard discussed “the state of politics” in this Presidential election year. He noted that college students are woefully lacking in proper primary and secondary education about government, and especially the American political system. He criticized the United States Supreme Court decision in “Citizens United,” which has opened the floodgates for the flow of money into political campaigns. Finally, he explained the impact of redistricting of congressional and state legislative districts on the 2012 elections. Mr. Leonard is currently a professor of Political Science at Wright State University. Pictured are Program Chairperson Kevin Guigou and Paul Leonard (right).
