TIPP CITY, Ohio (October 27, 2011) – The downtown Tippecanoe Merchants will host the 2011 Yuletide Winters Gathering on Saturday, November 12, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 13, Noon – 6 p.m. The event is a traditional shopkeeper’s open house that kicks off the holiday shopping season.
Visitors will be delighted to find a festive atmosphere complete with carriage rides and pictures with Santa. Enjoy finding unique gifts, holiday décor and much more from downtown merchants, along with beverages and meals from local eateries.
New this year is a “Welcome Santa” children’s parade. Children and their parents will meet at the Eagles parking lot (near 202 East Main Street) by 11:45 am on Saturday November 12 to welcome Santa to Tipp City. The parade will go down Main Street to 4th Street. Bring along a canned good and the children will stop at 3rd and Main Streets to donate to the Needy Basket.
Other exciting events include:
• Santa will be available for photos at Sugden Furniture (40 West Main Street) on Saturday from Noon – 3 p.m.
• Carriage rides on Saturday from Noon – 5 p.m. and Sunday from Noon- 4 p.m., will be available at Main and 1st Street and at Main and 4th Streets.
• Valley Arts & Crafts Show, Monroe Township basement Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from Noon – 5 p.m.
Throughout the holiday season, historic downtown Tipp City will have many other wonderful events to enjoy including Ladies “Book Club” Night on Thursday, November 17, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m., Window Wonderland on Saturday November 26, Tippecanoe Christmas in the Village annual home tour on Saturday, December 3, Early Bird Shopping on Saturday December 10, 8 p.m. – 11 a.m. and Night Owl Shopping on Saturday December 17, 7 p.m. -10 p.m.
