Tree Board Reminds Residents

Wanting to plant a new tree?  Proper planting and care, soil amendments, hole size, timely watering, and pruning are sound cultural practices to get your tree off to a good start and enjoyment for years.  Water your new trees when the weather is dry and hot. Stop by the City offices for a tree planting application (if in the curb lawn) and a free list of recommended tree varieties.

Your street trees also need to be trimmed to 8 feet above the surface of public sidewalks and 14 feet above street/alley surfaces.  That includes evergreens that are encroaching the sidewalks.

We have many walkers and bike riders and trimming your trees is for the safety of all citizens.  Now is the time to remove all dead branches. Tree trimmings can be recycled at BR Mulch, 620 Ginghamsburg Road.

If you have questions, please contact Tipp City at 667-6305.
