United Way High School Football Night

Promoting a comprehensive approach to giving!

September, 2010:  United Way holds football Night at Bethel High School and Tippecanoe High School.   Both schools spoke about our local Tipp City Area United Way.  Tipp City’s superintendent Dr. Kronour and Bethel’s superintendent Mr. Cassell both conducted the presentation.  Tippecanoe High School’s event was held on August 26 and Bethel High School’s event was held on September 9.  The cheerleaders at both schools tossed Tipp City Area United Way Live United footballs into the crowd.

Rick Mains Jr, Campaign Chair stated, “It is such an honor to partner with our local schools.  Their support means a lot to us.  We are hoping that together we can get the word out about our United Way and the importance of annual campaign giving”.

“The best way to put children on the path to productive, successful adulthood is through two-generation strategies that both help parents move their families ahead economically and help ensure their young children’s health development, and educational success.  The schools understand this and agree that by investing through the United Way, you are giving to a comprehensive approach that helps move families and their children ahead,” stated Deb Carr, Executive Director of the Tipp City Area United Way.

Carolyn Kiser , Co-Campaign Chair, interjected, “Nationally, one in four households with children struggle to afford enough food for themselves and their families in 2010.  In Ohio, the rate of food hardship is 26.3% of households with children, and 16.6% of households without children, we rank 20th in the nation.  Our United Way realizes this and has allotted more funding so our local food pantries can stay stocked with food for those in our community who would go hungry without it.”

Every gift large or small is appreciated and stays here locally to help those who need it most in our community.  If you have any questions regarding our United Way or campaign, need an informational brochure, or would like to facilitate a company campaign at your workplace, please call Deborah Carr at 669-FUND (3863).  You may also help with our community effort by sending your donation to: Tipp City Area United Way, P.O.
