The fastest 1,000 feet
Topping out at right around 330MPH, the NHRA Top Fuel dragster is one of the fastest land vehicles in the world. These dragsters race on tracks of only 1,000 feet due to their impressive acceleration capabilities, often covering 1,000 feet in less than 3.8 seconds. How do these NHRA dragsters compare to your muscle car? Well let’s see here, the Warrior Racing dragster can go from zero to 100MPH in 0.7 seconds. Their fuel? 90% nitromethane and 10% methanol, providing the thrust to shove the driver back in his seat during the race with 4 G’s worth of force.
Warrior Racing Dragster
Unbeknownst to many, Tipp City, Ohio sports not only a fantastic Mum Festival in the month of September but also is home to one of the NHRA’s most elite Top Fuel racing teams. In celebration of fast cars everywhere, this Friday, September 28th Warrior Racing will be setting up their entire “pit” and racing operation in Tipp City’s downtown during this year’s annual Mum Festival Car Show. Their highly customized, 53″ long and 13’4″ tall trailer as well as the Top Fuel dragster itself will be setup on S 2nd St. and Main (right next to Harrison’s Restaurant). This will be an incredible opportunity for anyone who has never been to an NHRA event to get up close and personal with the racing team, and their spectacular Top Fuel dragster.
Light it Up
The Warrior Racing team plans to fire up the engine of their dragster TWICE during the car show. They plan on having one afternoon and one evening start-up (the evening start-up will be special as you’ll catch the flames coming out of the upward firing exhausts). These non-race related start-ups are very rare as the racing team has to perform a full rebuild of the engine after each start. Watch as race team members work on the Top Fuel Dragster.
