West Milton Rotary June 13, 2011

Matt Gingrich, program host, invited Dr. John Boggess as the guest speaker at the June 13 West Milton Rotary Club meeting. Dr. Boggess, the superintendent at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center, presented to the Rotarians a history of the MVCTC, showed a short video on the programs offered at MVCTC and then promoted the passage of a 2.18 mill replacement levy planned for November. The MVCTC serves 27 school districts located in five counties, which covers approximately 4,000 square miles. The MVCTC celebrated its 40th year recently and serves nearly 3000 students per year. Students receive technical training in more than 50 career technical programs and can earn college credit and scholarship money while in high school from the Dual Enrollment and Tech Prep programs with Miami University Middletown, Sinclair Community College, and Wright State University. There is also an extensive Adult Education Program.

Below are pictures of two Rotary Scholarship winners as well as Matt Gingrich with Dr. John Boggess.
