Tony Howard, program host, invited Dennis Baker as the guest speaker at the May 16 West Milton Rotary Club meeting. Dennis, an agricultural lender and an OSU Extension Emeritus, shared much information regarding agricultural changes, how today’s farms are using technology, the importance of protecting the environment, farming myths, and the impact of American agriculture on affordable food. He also talked about the animal activism of the National Humane Society in other states that could possibly impact Ohio farming in the future. Farmers work every day to produce high-quality products by having good farm management practices and using advanced environmental practices. Many family farms still exist as they continue to raise food using fewer resources than they ever have.
