October 15, 2010: My name is Anthony. I have a job that provides me the opportunity to help various people every time I work. I’m a paramedic and firefighter for Tipp City. I also volunteer at Health Partners Free Clinic. Why? Because I have found that I can make a difference for people and make my community a better place to live.
Health Partners provides free medical care for Miami County uninsured residents. Many of the people being treated are in a state of crisis as far as their health is concerned. They may be diabetic and didn’t know it – or they may have congestive heart failure and didn’t know it – until they went to the free clinic.
Health Partners patients receive medical visits, prescription assistance, and diagnostic testing. Last year, Health Partners gave away more than $1.6 million dollars worth of medical care to 1,400 individuals. The services they provide are critical to our community.
I am young and healthy. I don’t have any serious health conditions. And I’m in a position that I can afford to give back to my community with my medical background. I have found that I can make a difference for people through Health Partners Free Clinic.
Volunteering to make my community a better place to live, that’s how I “Live United”!
