Tipp City FUN FAIR Returns April 26

New this year, Broadway and Nevin Coppock Elementary Schools will hold their first annual FUN Fair on Friday, April 26 from 5 – 9 pm. The FUN Fair, sponsored by Broadway and Nevin Coppock’s parent volunteer organization, Tipp City PIE (Parents Involved in Education), now supports the entire Tipp City student body of K – 3rd grade.

Still held at Broadway, Fun Fair has been a community tradition in Tipp City for more than 50 years.

FUN Fair is the biggest Broadway and Nevin Coppock fundraiser of the year. The money from this event is slated for classroom technology and other school equipment, the Teacher Discretionary Fund, Field Days, Family Fun Nights and more. Planned primarily for families with students in grades K – 3, the event is open to anyone who wants to enjoy an evening of food, fun and games.

Attendees can blow off some steam in the obstacle course, Moonwalk or race down the 20-foot Titanic Slide. Try laser tag this year provided by Laser Quest. Children can test their throwing arm with the Optimists’ Football Toss or look like a tennis pro with Schroeder Tennis Center. Broadway Hair Studio will also be on site to bring out the rock star in kids of all ages with hair painting and tinsel. Whimsical Faces will gladly transform children’s faces with the tip of a brush. Test your skills at our new Minute to Win It area. Of course, it wouldn’t be Fun Fair without time-tested carnival favorites like the Coke Toss, Duck Pond and Cake Walk.

New this year is the Dunk Tank (weather permitting). You'll get your chance to dunk your favorite principals and teachers!

There are plenty of opportunities to take home one of 25 themed baskets from the Basket Raffle, such as the Lego basket. The Children’s Raffle will give away about 200 prizes with the Kindle Fire and iPod Shuffle as the grand prizes.

Kitchen Meals are available for $4 which include Fox’s pizza or a hot dog, a drink and a choice of two sides. The kitchen closes at 8pm. Carnival concessions such as nachos and hot pretzels are also available for purchase throughout the evening. Make your own pixie stick with the Pucker Powder machine, new this year.

FUN Fair would not be possible without the generous support of community sponsors such as the Tipp City Rotary Club. Several local business have donated cash, products and/or services to make this event successful.

Planning for FUN Fair begins several months in advance, with over 300 parent volunteers donating their time and resources by the end of the event. Broadway and Nevin Coppock families and faculty show their dedication to their school by serving on the planning committee, donating Raffle items, baking over 100 cakes and deserts and working the night of FUN Fair. FUN Fair is truly a labor of love by the entire school.

Admission to FUN Fair is FREE, with most games and food items costing 1 – 4 tickets. Tickets are $.50 each. Fun Fair is an indoor and small outdoor experience, so plan on attending rain or shine.
