Canal Jumpers to Memorialize the Day and Play Double Header on 9/11

Our Tippecanoe Canal Jumpers base ball club will be hosting a double header at Tipp City Park on September 11th, 2011. The team plans to compete in the gentlemanly game of base ball and compete with the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings (a team supported by the Cincinnati Reds). The first of two matches will being at 1p,m, at the fields adjacent to the Tipp City Aquatic Center, City Park.

The Canal Jumpers in conjunction with the gentlemen of the Tippecanoe Masonic Lodge 174 will perform a flag ceremony memorializing the terrible and tragic day 10 years ago when the United States was attacked by terrorists in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC. Tipp City’s Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will be present at this event and celebrating “Scout Day”, seeking to obtain their Flag Badge.

Admission to this and all Canal Jumper games is FREE. The Canal Jumpers is a project of the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, a non-profit 501c3 organization with a mission to enhance, preserve and promote downtown Tipp City.
