Downtown Tipp City Merchants Welcome Visitors for 2012 Yuletide Winters Gathering

2012 Winters Yuletide Gathering

Merchants in Downtown Tipp City, Ohio are once again opening up their doors and welcoming visitors to town with their elaborately decorated storefronts and interiors for the 2012 Yuletide Winters Gathering this weekend.

Scheduled early enough in the season to allow shoppers and visitors to spend the day downtown without the fear of inclement weather, the Winter’s Gathering promotes both the merchants and the value of small businesses in the Tipp City economy. Unlike many Ohio downtown corridors in decline, Tipp City’s downtown is alive and well with dozens of specialty shoppes, craftsmen and restaurants. “Our downtown small business owners have worked hard to foster an environment of cooperation that is very tangible”, shared Tara Dixon Engel, executive director of the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, “they work very hard to make their shoppes as beautiful as possible, presenting some of the most unique and fascinating gifts for sale during the Christmas holiday months”.

Visitors to Tipp City this week will find that they can “take a step back in time” when horse pulled wagonnettes ferry shoppers around town and the air is punctuated with the first festive songs of the season. Visitors are also encouraged to partake in a holiday-syle meal at one of Tipp City’s downtown establishments like Sam & Ethels, Harrisons Restaurant or Coldwater Cafe. And if there is a chill in the air, don’t forget a hot beverage from Olde Tippecanoe Coffee Company or Grounds for Pleasure.

Tanya Brown, owner of Living Simply Soap shared, ”We just love this time of the year! Decorating our shop and welcoming our visitors to our great little town is such a joy” and as Terri Bessler, owner of Midwest Memories heralds, “The excitement is building for this weekend!. The downtown will be filled with many visitors from all around the state this weekend. They will find our downtown shops filled to the brim with holiday merchandise.”
