Eldora Supports United Way

August 20, 2010: This summer Eldora Speedway has partnered with United Ways of Auglaize, Darke, Piqua, Shelby, Troy, and the Tipp City Area to help their neighbors in need. Eldora held two events to strengthen Education, Income, and Health in these communities including United Way Night at the Races and Kings Royal Dunk Tank, where Tony Stewart graciously let fans dunk him for charity. This partnership is very exciting and has brought in almost $3,200 for the United Way.

The United Way Night at the Races was held on June 19th for the Father’s Day Special. That evening the drivers passed their helmets for United Way and a portion of ticket sales sold by the United Way was donated back to the local community. The other event was a dunk tank at the Kings Royal on July 17th. Many drivers, volunteers, and Tony Stewart were willing to sit in the dunk tank, and all were dunked to help their local neighbors in need. These events are supporting over 150 non-profit agencies in the four-county area.

On behalf of the staff and board of directors for the United Way of Auglaize County, Darke County United Way, Piqua Area United Way, Shelby County United Way, Tipp City Area United Way, and Troy United Way, we would like to thank Eldora Speedway for their generous donation to our local communities to support our seniors, youth, those in crisis, and those seeking self-sufficiency. Eldora Speedway is Living United to strengthen the lives of local residents.
