Miami Co. Republicans Announce Meeting Date for Judicial Appointment to Ballot

John W. O’Brien, Chairman of the Miami County Republican Party, announced that the Republican Central Committee will meet September 2, 2010 to select the Republican candidate for Miami County Common Pleas Judge. The seat is left open with the August 31st retirement of longtime Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Welbaum. The selected Republican candidate will be placed on the November 2, 2010 ballot. By Ohio law, a majority of Central Committee members must be in attendance at the meeting.

Interested Miami County Republicans should forward their letter of interest and resume to Chairman John W. O’Brien. The application must be at the party’s PO Box 662, Troy Ohio by September 1, 2010 by 5 pm. Interested candidates should meet all State laws on eligibility and all Ohio Supreme Court guidelines.

O’Brien stated, Judges Welbaum and Lindeman are highly respected Common Pleas jurists. They are known for their commitment to the rule of law, integrity and fairness. I fully expect the Miami County Republican Party to take this responsibility seriously and nominate someone who will aspire to uphold the same standard.

The Miami County Court system has a reputation of judicial excellence and the Miami County Republican Party is committed to nominating someone who will continue that tradition.
