Council on Rural Services and Milton Union Schools are partnering to open a new Kids Learning Place preschool classroom that will be located in the Milton Union Schools and open in fall of 2011. There will be a meeting to share information about the preschool and enrollment on Thursday, May 12 at 7:00 pm at Milton Union Elementary School Gym – 43 Wright Road in West Milton.
This Head Start option is a federally funded comprehensive program for children between three to five years old; with families that meet federal income guidelines. The program also provides services to children of families that are homeless and children with disabilities are considered without income restrictions.
Our Kids Learning Place classroom in West Milton will offer children a safe and nurturing learning opportunity in the classroom and also provide a positive education experience that includes:
- part day sessions; four days per week in AM or PM classes
- teachers with degrees in the classroom
- a research-based online curriculum developed to build early learning skills that boost development in the children
- developmental testing throughout the year with online access for parents
- accepting children with special needs
- bus transportation in most areas
- valuing and encouraging parent participation
- site will be licensed by the Ohio Department of Education
- program will begin the process to earn the “Step Up to Quality” award that recognizes programs that exceed licensing standards
- nutritious breakfast, lunch and snacks included
