Hornbeck, Marvin L. 88 of Tipp City died Wednesday May 18, 2011 at the Ohio Masonic Home, Springfield, Ohio. Born August 10, 1922 in Springfield, Ohio to Orville L. and Irma {Bowers} Hornbeck. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Ethel Iva “Jean” {Lewis} Hornbeck and brother; Kenneth Hornbeck. Survived by his son; Dennis Hornbeck, Dayton, Ohio daughter; Vikki Smart, Tipp City, Ohio, brother; Lavaughn Hornbeck of Tipp City and grandchildren; Michelle Smart, New Carlisle, OH and Michael Hornbeck, Rogersville, TN. Marvin proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Coast Guard. He retired from Hobart Corp. after 43 years where he was employed as a machinist. Marvin was a member of Elm Valley Fishing Club, Troy Fish and Game Club, Tippecanoe Masonic Lodge #174, York Rite’, Troy and the American Legion Post #586, Tipp City. Funeral service for Marvin will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 23, 2011 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St. Tipp City, Ohio 45371, burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. Visitation 5 to 7 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
