Tipp City’s Mainstreet Preschool at the corner of 3rd and Main downtown is experiencing record registrations.
“This has a lot to do with the kindergarten requirements for Tipp City Schools” stated Suzanne Collins, Director and Pre-K teacher for Mainstreet. Collins continued, “I think that we will see more and more kids in our Pre-K program as the State (of Ohio) mandates full-day Kindergarten”
While Tipp City School District took the waiver this year to NOT have full-day Kindergarten, they do not have “forever” to make the changes requested by Governor Strickland early last year and approved by the State legislative branch. In their first full day of public registration, Mainstreet Preschool now has a waiting list for it’s Pre-K classes.
Jan Haley, Office Manager for Mainstreet shared today that Mainstreet has only 4 openings in their 2 year old program, 7 openings in their age 3/4 “Busy Bees” class, 3 openings in their age 4/5 “Awesome Acorns” class and 6 openings in their afternoon multi-age program.
Note to Mom’s and Dad’s out there.. If you would like your child registered in one of Mainstreet Preschool’s classes this year, you really should give them a call or stop in this week to register your child.
