U.S. Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio’s 4th Congressional District will be the keynote speaker at the Miami County Republican Party’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner set for Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 6:00 pm. at Club 55’s the Crystal Room in Troy.
The 4th District covers Shelby, Champaign, Logan, and Allen Counties along with areas due north of Columbus and included more than 625,000 people. Raised in Champaign County and graduating from Graham High School in 1982, Jordan was first elected to Congress in 2006 and serves on the House Budget Committee, the Committee on the Judiciary, and is the ranking member of the all-important Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. He was elected to the Ohio General Assembly in 1994, and went on to be elected to the State Senate in 2000.
Jordan has been awarded the Watchdog of the Treasury Award 3 times, Outstanding Ohio Legislator in 2004, and Outstanding Freshman Legislator in 1994, and Friend of the Taxpayer in 1997. Since his Congressional District covers many neighboring counties, most of the issues that affect his District also have a huge impact on this area. His presentation will not only deal with the issues but will also reveal what is currently going in in Washington.
With the new Republican Majority settling in, and starting to pass substantive legislation on taxes, the budget, and other vital matters, Jordan’s presentation should be a fascinating look at the current climate in Washington. Jordan is known for his speaking skills, and the presentation should be most-informative.

The Lincoln Day Dinner will include a choice of beef, chicken or fish, vegetable medley, and desert. The cost for the event is $35.00 per person.
