December 20, 2010: Tipp City Area United Way successfully held their first ever “Restaurant Day for United Way”! Coldwater Café, Greenfire Bistro, Hickory River, Kanoe Café, 2nd Street Deli, and Bob Evans Restaurants have all agreed to give a percentage of their sales or a flat fee to help support United Way’s many Partner Agencies assisting the folks in our community. Many area residents also helped to make this possible by patronizing the restaurants who participated.
“It really showed that our community cares for those needing support especially during these difficult times,” stated coordinator, Andrea Hoover. “Having someone else doing the cooking also benefited our community, and the money that was donated will help stock food pantries, provide medical treatment to those without insurance, ensure others will have basic needs that we sometimes take for granted, and much more,” Andrea concluded.
“I’d like to thank everyone who participated, for making a difference. The much needed support was truly appreciated from those who visited the restaurants, to the restaurants who so willing chose to participate, publicize Deb Carr, Executive Director.
