Jeff Butts, Tippecanoe High School alumni, spoke at the February 9, 2011 Tipp City Rotary meeting about his life changing journey. In May of 2008 Jeff weighed 643 pounds. He noted that his life was really a miserable existence, and he was barely able to get around. He had laparoscopic R-N-Y gastric bypass (bariatric surgery) on November 10, 2008. He created a “bucket list” of things to do and has been accomplishing them one by one. He currently weight 220 pounds, and volunteers with various organizations, gives motivational speeches, and helps to counsel those who are having bariatric surgery.
