Tipp City Area United Way Assists Locals Through Times of Crisis

Tipp City, Ohio February 8, 2011: Lost Job.     Lost Home.     Lost Hope.     And that is why there is United Way.  For those who have lost hope…and for those who want to give it!

Our campaign goal of $180,000.00 has not yet been achieved.  “It’s not the number that’s important,” said Scott Vagedes, Campaign Chair.  “It’s what that amount represents.  It means a family that is going to be turned away for help when they need it the most.  If we do not reach our goal, we will have to cut funding to vital social service programs during these difficult economic times.”

Our community has not been immune to the recession that all Americans in some form or another have been struggling to overcome.  Those who never in their wildest dreams thought they would be in financial straits now have to look for help.  While there are signs on the horizon that better times are coming, the need for help in our community is great.

“We know that times are tough as an increasing number of residents have either lost their jobs, their homes or had their paycheck reduced”, said Rick Mains Jr., Campaign Co-Chair.  “That is exactly why we all need to give hope to our neighbors by donating to our local United Way.  When you give to Tipp City Area United Way you are making sure local funding is available to health and human service organizations that have programs with proven results to help our community members in need of hope.  If you have not given toward the annual campaign or can afford to give an additional amount, we are asking you to consider making the investment in your fellow community members needing hope.”

We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to our campaign thus far, said Scott Vagedes, Champaign Chair.  “We have collected $135,000.00 to date, and still more needs to be done to achieve the $180,000.00 goal to meet the needs of our community during this difficult time.”

Every contribution, large or small, takes us one step closer to our goal.  Giving hope and help to those needing it in our community.  Every contribution stays right here in the Tipp City, Monroe, and Bethel Township area.

Please send your contribution to Tipp City Area United Way, PO Box 95, Tipp City, OH, 45371.  You can also check with your employer to see if donating by payroll deduction is available.  Additionally, you may give a contribution through our website, www.tippcityauw.org or to find more information.  If you are going through a difficult time and need hope and assistance or want to find out more, please contact Deb Carr at 669-3863.
