This writer was very impressed with the preparations made by West Milton for our team’s arrival on Friday night. Welcoming us into town were downtown vendors selling “Beat Tipp” T-shirts. Tippecanoe decided to go with the ever-popular “black out” theme.

And oh-boy was Saturday night a night for fighting for the Tippecanoe Red Devils! OSCAA made a decision this year to revive the local competition with an out of conference game for the Red Devis with West Milton.

Highlights from the game included an interception by Jake Budde with a 36 yard return, a fumble recovery by Tippecanoe on the Tipp 13 yard line followed in the second quarter with an 85 yard run by Jake Budde for 6 points. Kyle added 1 to make 7 with 1:47 left in the second quarter.

By halftime Tippecanoe had 7 points on the board and dominated the field both in total yards offense as well as field position. With Tippecanoe putting 14 more on the board, the second half of the game did not fare well for Milton until 7 minutes into the fourth quarter when Milton’s Adam Martin rumbled into the end-zone with an 11 yard carry. Tippecanoe closed the doors on Milton with 3 minutes left in the game when West Milton’s quarterback went to the air 45 yards and was intercepted by Tipp who returned it to their 30 yard line.

On our return drive home, I especially appreciated our Tippecanoe boys carrying the THS banners down to McDonalds and letting the townies know the outcome of the game. 🙂
