Woody Releases First Book

For all of my life, or technically since the sixth grade, I’ve only ever wanted to be an author. It took longer than expected, I always have been slow, but now with the release of “Twisted Hearts Tales,” I’m finally an official published author.

My attraction to writing started in my sixth grade English class with the discovery of something I was good at. I was never popular in school, except for being a favorite to be picked on. The only time I felt accepted was when I read aloud from my journal. I still remember when the teacher would ask for volunteers to share that the class would chant my name. It felt really good to entertain others with my writing and has since been my life’s mission. A psychologist might say that I still use my writing to gain acceptance.

“Twisted Hearts Tales” consists of four short stories, which have some unexpected twists and turns along the path towards love. An awkward teen gets caught up in the fantasy of an online romance which he wants to delete. One woman’s heart will stop at nothing to win the affection of her dream man, who is married to her sister. More than the waves are turbulent when an engaged couple go sailing with an old friend. And a teen makes the ultimate sacrifice to earn a young beauties attention.

The cover has received a lot of attention, it is rather eye catching. If you look close enough it does say ‘Mike Woody‘ on it. It took me awhile to notice it myself. I must admit, in all honesty, my favorite sight and what I’ve stared at the most is my name. And believe it or not, as pleasing as the cover is, it gets even better inside. (Sorry, no more pictures)

The publisher is Rebel Ink Press, who specializes in E-books. Which means “Twisted Hearts Tales,” is only available electronically. It’s the future way of reading. While it would be nice to have actual hard copies to see in bookstores, be able to sign, and give to people; I am still published and that’s really all that matters.

Some of you may be surprised by the content, it’s racier than my news articles. However, it’s not terribly obscene. I would rate it as PG-13. Compared to the Harlequin Romance novels it is very pure, but still not suitable for Sunday School. In the future I’d like to publish a work that is more wholesome.

I hope you are willing to give “Twisted Hearts Tales,” a look and that you enjoy it. The cost is $2.99 and is available on several online e-book sellers including Amazon Kindle, All Romance E books, Barnes & Noble Kindle and Bookstrand. If you don’t have a Kindle or any such device you can download the book onto your computer.
