WEST MILTON – A search of a West Milton mobile home yielded a marijuana greenhouse and various drug paraphernalia.

On Oct. 14, four West Milton police officers obtained a search warrant for and subsequently searched the residence of 44-year-old Mark J. Ratajack, 7565 W. State Route 571, Lot 84 at 8:11 p.m. According to reports, they found an indoor marijuana growing operation, which included two small rooms off the north bedroom of the residence.

The operation consisted of seven mature marijuana plants and five mid-to-starter plants. The marijuana grow room had a large single bulb light fixture heating the small closet with an air conditioner window unit built into the wall. The unit had an electric generator on a timer to increase the wattage. The room also had a small fan ventilator with foil piping removing hot air from the room, a household fan to circulate air within the room and a heat lamp.

Throughout the residence, officers located multiple drug paraphernalia pipes, frozen grocery bags full of marijuana buds, glass jar, digital scale, grinder and marijuana residue. Police concluded Ratajack was growing a significant amount of marijuana for the purpose of selling the drug.

The evidence was taken to the West Milton Police Department for booking. Ratajack was taken into custody for posession of marijuana, drug trafficking, cultivation of controlled substance, criminal tools and drug paraphernalia.

He posted bail and had his pre-trial conference Oct. 24.
