Milton-Union High School Class Valedictorians

Alyssa Lightcap, daughter of John and Michaelle Lightcap, had a lead role in the spring musical and recently won the Rotary Speech contest. She participated in Young Spirits, National Honor Society, and 4-H. She is treasurer of Student Council and co-editor of the yearbook. Alyssa enjoys being involved in church activities as well as babysitting. She will be attending Muskingum University on the Presidential Scholarship in the fall, majoring in nursing.


 

Ericka Marie Lynn, daughter of William and Teresa Lynn, is planning to attend The Ohio State University to major in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering. Ericka is President of her school’s National Honor Society and Student Council. For the past three years she has led Milton-Union’s Band of Pride as the drum major. She is a member of Quiz team, Yearbook staff, and she also plays clarinet with the Englewood Civic Band. Ericka lists math and science as her favorite subjects. Her hobbies include reading and hiking with her brother.

 

Molly Swigart, daughter of Monte and Shelley Swigart, held the Varsity Volleyball Captain role as well as Dance Captain of the Centerstage Show Choir, both of which she participated in for four years. She worked in the Governor’s Cabinet at Buckeye Girls’ State and attended HOBY as a sophomore. She is the National Honor Society Secretary and a two-year yearbook editor. Molly enjoys volunteering at multiple local service organizations and spends a lot of time with her youth group. In the fall she will be attending Butler University on a full ride scholarship majoring in political science.

 

Gina Wagner is the daughter of Ron and Joann Wagner. She is a member of the Milton-Union School Band, the Englewood Civic Band, and volunteers to play the flute at her church. Gina is also involved in her church youth group, Academic Quiz Team, and Bulldog Pride. Her academic honors include National Honor Society and Tri-M Musician Honor Society, which she is the president. Gina was Milton-Union’s recipient of the Ohio-Honda Math Medal award. Gina will attend Trine University in Indiana on a $25,000 scholarship and intends to major in Chemical Engineering.
