It wasn’t until after Jon Crusey became City Manager that I really got to know Cathy Ross. Cathy served our City as administrative assistant to the City Manager, as well as the Clerk of Council.
When I went to visit the City Manager at his office I was able to count on her bright eyes and smile to greet me as more times than not I arrived with heavy matters at hand. Cathy was a gem to the media, making sure that we received copies of the Council agenda, and always capturing the details of what went on in Council chambers.
My friend Cathy passed away on Wednesday, and will be very much missed by everyone that she touched. Cathy’s obituary is provided below.
ROSS, Cathy A age 53 of West Milton, passed away Wednesday June 8, 2011. She was a 1976 graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School, and was an Administrative Assistant for the city manager of Tipp City. She is preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Jeanne Burke. Survived by her husband of 30 years Michael, son Andrew Ross, 2 sisters; Vicki (David) Clark of Englewood, Vivian (Michael) Finley of Vandalia, 2 step-children; Emily Hollinger, Jeremy Ross, mother-in-law Betty Ross, 2 sister-in-laws; Jackie Henn, Robin Banter, brother-in-law John Ross. A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 3 PM at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N.
