Linda Ray
(September 15, 1940 – March 21, 2011)

Ray, Linda Jewel Claycomb age 70, of Tipp City, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her immediate family, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 21, 2011. She was born September 15, 1940 in LaHarpe , Illinois , the daughter of Wendell Harry Claycomb and Edith Elizabeth Fowler Claycomb, and was a 1958 graduate of the LaHarpe High School , and a training school for teletype telephone operators in Omaha , Nebraska . She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harold Eugene Claycomb. She is survived by her husband, Dick Ray, and daughters, Catherine Elizabeth Hart (and husband Tim) of Clarksburg West Virginia, Rebecca Sue Monahan (and husband Tim), of Liberty Township, Ohio, 5 grandchildren (Jamie, Matt, and Nick Fox, Emily and Noah Hart, and 2 step grandchildren (Danielle and Matt Monahan), brothers William Emmet (and Claire), and Ray Leon (and Iris) Claycomb and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in California, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, New Mexico, New York and North Carolina Linda and Dick were married April 3, 1960 in LaHarpe , Illinois , and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 3, 2010. Linda was employed at IRC in Burlington , Iowa for several years after technical training school, where she met her future husband, Dick, who was also employed at IRC. Linda was a wonderful mother and homemaker throughout their married life. She will be greatly missed by her immediate family, and her many relatives and friends. Linda and Dick lived in Burlington , Iowa , King of Prussia , Pennsylvania , Tipp City , Ohio , Mundelein , Illinois , and Farmington Hills , Michigan during their married life, where Dick worked for TRW. Linda was a member of the Tipp City United Methodist Church . She was always very active in her local church choir, bell choir, United Methodist Women, Servants in Missions, the Tipp City Newcomers Club, the Tipp City Clothesline organization, and many other local church and community activities. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday March 23, 2011 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St. Tipp City , Ohio 45371 and one hour prior to service at the church. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at the Tipp City United Methodist Church, 8 W. Main St. Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Tipp City United Church Memorial Fund at 8 W.
