Urbana University Graduates and Honors Recipients from Miami County

URBANA, Ohio (June 17, 2013) –The following graduated from Urbana University during the 121st Commencement Ceremony held on May 4, 2013 in the Warren G. Grimes Center.

Christine L. Asher, of Tipp City, received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Christina Brownlee, of Tipp City, received a Master of Business Administration degree.

Dawn D. Dudgeon, of Troy, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. Dawn was also inducted in Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society, Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society for Non-traditional Students and received an Academic Honor Award during the Honor Societies Inductions and Awards Convocation held the evening before Commencement.

Gina E. Grusenmeyer, daughter of Stephan and Jennifer Grusenmeyer of Tipp City, received a Bachelor of Science degree in sciences. Gina also was named the Outstanding Humanities Student during the Awards Convocation held the evening before Commencement.

Brett Kopp, son of Greg and Debbie Kopp of Tipp City, received a Bachelor of Science degree with a self-designed major.

Jill E. Larger, of Piqua, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in business management leadership. Jill was also inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society, the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society for Non-traditional Students, and received an Academic Honor Award during the Honor Societies Inductions and Awards Convocation held the evening before Commencement.

Troy Lawrence Lightcap, son of Harvey and Jodi Lightcap of West Milton, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education (PK-3). Troy was also inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society, and received an Academic Honor Award during the Honor Societies Inductions and Awards Convocation held the evening before Commencement.

Sandra M. Nosker, of Troy, received a Master of Business Administration degree.

Angela Quinn Umstead, of Troy, received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics.

Shelby D. Snell, daughter of Mark Snell and Andrea Nelson of Piqua, received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

Branden D. Sphar, son of Bruce and Sharolyn Sphar of Casstown, received a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education (PK-3).

Undergraduates recognized for outstanding academic achievement during the Honor Societies Inductions and Awards Convocation are:

Brittany Baker, of Troy, was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society.

Leslie Cooper, of Piqua, was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society for Education.

Jessica Edwards, of Piqua, was named Outstanding Healthcare Management Student Scholar and was inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society and Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society for Non-Traditional Students.

Britt Freistuhler, of Tipp City, received an Academic Honor Award.

Alejandra Hostetter, of Piqua, was inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society and Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society for Non-Traditional Students.

Elizabeth Michael, daughter of Daniel and Susan King of Piqua, received an Academic Honor Award.

Charity Nemec, of Casstown, was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.

April Thomas, of Tipp City, was inducted into Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society for Non-Traditional Students.

Kyle Wallace, son of David and Mary Wallace of West Milton, was inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society and received an Academic Honor Award.

Christopher Workman, of Troy, was named Outstanding English Student, inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society, Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society for Non-Traditional Students, Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society, and received an Academic Honor Award.

Blaine Wright, of Troy, received an Academic Honor Award.
