Staci Bucholtz, program host, invited fellow Rotarian, Larry Dehus, Paul Harris Fellows Chairperson, as our guest speaker at the April 25 West Milton Rotary Club meeting. Larry shared a short history of the Paul Harris Fellows with some other related information to the club members before conducting the club’s annual Paul Harris Fellow drawing. Ten club members donated $100.00 each with the possibility of having their name drawn as the club’s designee for a Paul Harris Fellow with the $1000 donation to the Rotary International Foundation. Staci Bucholtz was the member who was selected to be the Paul Harris Fellow. To date, worldwide more than one million individuals have been recognized as Paul Harris Fellows – people who have given $1,000 to the Annual Programs Fund or have had that amount contributed in their name. The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is a nonprofit corporation that promotes world understanding through humanitarian service and educational and cultural exchanges. A major project is the Polio Plus program that is working for the eradication of polio throughout the world.
