Press Release: 2010 Looks Bright for Downtown Tipp City

As the year comes to a close, the Downtown Tipp City Partnership reflects on another successful year and a bright 2010. The Downtown Tipp City Partnership's (DTCP) accomplishments in 2009 include an IRS 501c3 non-profit status, well-attended downtown events and the establishment of the Tippecanoe Canal Jumpers Base Ball Club. The DTCP's goals for 2010 include membership into the Ohio Main Street Program, a new membership coordinator and sponsorship of a downtown event this spring.

Grinch Steals Trees from Downtown Planters

Saturday morning local merchants and residents awoke to find two of the downtown planters defaced, and their evergreen trees stolen. The planters involved in this crime were located in front of Harrison's and Community Services.

Meijer's and Tipp City.. Give back

As the holiday season fast approaches and instead of caulking the bathtub, cleaning out the basement or raking leaves these local residents chose to help out some needy families. In a project initiated by the generosity of the folks at Meijer's in Troy and Huber Heights as well as Meijer's Distribution here in Tipp City 102 bicycles were donated to Tipp Monroe Community Services to be assembled and distributed to the needy.

Meijer's Generosity along with Community Services make Christmas Wishes

Kathy Taylor, director of Tipp Monroe Community Services received an unexpected call from Meijer's last week letting her know that they were looking to donate 100 children's bicycles to Community Services. They apparently had several skids of bikes whose boxes were ripped or damaged and would not be appropriate for retail sale.
