Saturday morning local merchants and residents awoke to find two of the downtown planters defaced, and their evergreen trees stolen. The planters involved in this crime were located in front of Harrison's and Community Services.
In a few short weeks you’ll be turning the calendar to a new year and writing 2010 on your checks. Another year will have passed and another set of News Year’s resolutions will be staring you in the face. The trouble is, the resolution you made last year to be more active fell by the wayside and those insidious pounds have crept up on you.
As the holiday season fast approaches and instead of caulking the bathtub, cleaning out the basement or raking leaves these local residents chose to help out some needy families. In a project initiated by the generosity of the folks at Meijer's in Troy and Huber Heights as well as Meijer's Distribution here in Tipp City 102 bicycles were donated to Tipp Monroe Community Services to be assembled and distributed to the needy.
Kathy Taylor, director of Tipp Monroe Community Services received an unexpected call from Meijer's last week letting her know that they were looking to donate 100 children's bicycles to Community Services. They apparently had several skids of bikes whose boxes were ripped or damaged and would not be appropriate for retail sale.

Spring Hill Nurseries is reopening its doors this holiday season as a specialty catalog outlet center for many popular mail order catalog brands. On November 27th, 2009, the center will reemerge as a catalog outlet center that will feature overstock from various catalog brands at greatly reduced prices.
Council President Pat Hale and City Manager Jon Crusey presented a financial "state of the union" Tuesday evening to 68 concerned residents at the Zion Lutheran Church.
The presentation included a Powerpoint slidedeck that included a review of sources of revenue year over year along with the 27 different accounting categories where monies are spent.
